My Approach

To work pluralistically means to act, think or use analysis from a perspective that accepts and values many different ideas, cultures and beliefs. Not just one.

I have the following qualifications to support you, and I can combine them in a pluralistic approach to understand and support all that creates the bigger and smaller pictures: the reasons, the outcomes and the emotional attachments. All of this affects you, and it all matters to me. Therefore, whether you suffer from anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, confidence, identity, grief, trauma, relationships, adjusting to sight loss — or anything else that feels too heavy to carry alone. We will work together, at your pace, in the way that helps you the most.

🌿 Person-Centred / Humanistic Approach

Warmth, safety, and being truly heard. I offer you a calm, kind space to be yourself just as you are. Offering help with low self-esteem, anxiety, grief & loss, feeling stuck, life changes, finding your voice, and simply being understood.

🌿 CBT — Cognitive & Behavioural Approaches

Practical tools to notice thoughts, feelings, and habits, and make gentle changes. Helps with: anxiety, worry, depression, stress, panic, negative thought patterns, building coping skills, adjusting to change, including sight loss.

🌿 Psychodynamic Approach

Exploring how your past and experiences shape how you feel today — gently uncovering deeper understanding. Helps with: recurring patterns, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, understanding why you feel what you feel and long-standing struggles that you’d like to understand and/or change.

🌿 Loss, Grief & Bereavement Support

Gentle, compassionate care through all kinds of loss — of a person, health, independence, or the life you knew. Helps with: bereavement, loss of health including sight loss, loss of confidence, major life transitions, saying goodbye and finding a way forward.

🌿 Addictive Behaviours & Substance Misuse

Exploring what lies beneath the habits, with kindness and without judgement. Helping with: alcohol & drug use, behavioural addictions, understanding triggers, building recovery, finding hope, balance and regaining your life in sobriety.

🌿 Trauma-Informed Practice

Working gently and safely at your pace, honouring what you have been through. Helping with: past or recent trauma, abuse, difficult experiences, feeling overwhelmed, flashbacks, night terror, panic attacks, building safety and trust.

🌿 Specialist Sight Loss Counselling

Accredited understanding of how sight loss changes every part of life — confidence, relationships, work, daily living, identity, and future hopes. Helping you adjust to a diagnosis or changing sight, confidence & independence, grief for sight, anxiety about the future, relationships, accessibility needs, and rebuilding your world.

🌿 Relationship-Centred Approach

Building trust step-by-step, so you can feel safe enough to share whatever matters most. This supports: family struggles, partner relationships, work dynamics, loneliness, communication, and feeling heard by the people around you.

Here to support you with professional kindness, safety, and understanding. 🌿
